Giorgio Armani is an Italian designer who stands out above all for his men's suits. From 1960 to 1972 he worked as a designer at the famous house of Nino Cerutti and then worked as a freelance designer in numerous fashion houses before founding his own brand. In 1975, he introduced his first menswear collection, and a series for women followed in the same year. Armani gained a wider audience for his work with the famous film „American Gigolo“, in which Richard Gere's character had elegant Armani designs. It was the first of many future film collaborations.
